Edgar Cayce on Healing Foods for Body, Mind, and Spirit, by William A. McGarey, M.D. and Edgar Cayce. Edgar Cayce left behind a legacy of psychic readings, two-thirds of which dealt with physical illnesses and what might be done to restore the body to health. Throughout his suggestions on ways to correct these conditions, Cayce spoke volumes about diet. He saw certain food combinations as helpful, some as harmful. His theme throughout the readings was keep the body and its functions balanced—often by using nutrition. This book gives readers a useful and practical source of information regarding what constructive eating is all about. It is written especially for those who are interested in seeking out their life purpose, in maintaining health, and in overcoming illnesses. Readers will learn the importance of stress, attitudes, emotions, beliefs, habits, prayer, and meditation, and how they affect the use of food by the body and the ultimate effect it has on general health. The diet you need for full health is as unique as you are. This book will show you how to search creatively for the diet that will suit you best.

The Edgar Cayce Remedies, by William A. Mcgarey. What opens the door to disease in our body? What enables us to get well? Dr. William A. McGarey answers these questions and shows us the way to glowing good health. Guided by the teachings of Edgar Cayce, Dr. McGarey has treated thousands in his Arizona clinic. He treats the human body not as a biochemical factory but as a whole entity in time and space, affected by our consciousness and the experienced of life, now and through many incarnations. Utilizing holistic concepts that use our minds creatively to bring health to our bodies, Dr. McGarey shows us a process of healing that includes: special diets and herbs, the preparation and use of Cayce's famous castor oil packs. Effective healing massages, an exercise program, treatments for specific illnesses, including psoriasis, colitis, asthma, heart disease, arthritis, and many more, daily meditation and prayer, dreams in health and healing, a Cayce pharmacopoeia.

Edgar Cayce Encyclopedia of Healing, by Reba Ann Karp. From Acne to Xeroderma, almost any health problem you are likely to experience has been addressed by Edgar Cayce (the sleeping prophet). I trust Cayce's information and the remedies in the Encyclopedia of Healing are 99 percent common sense: eat healthy, exercise, and reduce the stress in your life. If you're looking for some magic cure, though, you'll likely be disappointed. Keep in mind that most of these remedies were prescribed for individuals with several ailments. For this reason, I wouldn't go swallowing any strange concoctions before getting a professional opinion, but I would trust these case studies as a guide for better living.

Nourishing the Body Temple: Edgar Cayce's Approach to Nutrition, by Simone Gabbay. This comprehensive Edgar Cayce diet and nutrition guide is your road map to better health. Edgar Cayce, the world's best-documented psychic, emphasized the biblical view of the body as temple for the spirit. The task of sustaining the body, through good nutrition and other means, is therefore a spiritual responsibility. Cayce gave thousands of psychic readings addressing health and nutrition. Today, scientific research has validated many of the dietary recommendations proposed by Cayce, notably his consistent admonitions to substantially increase the intake of vegetables and fruits. Food fads come and go, but the Cayce diet stands the test of time as a sound, well-balanced nutrition plan which supplies all necessary nutrients in a form that is easily assimilated by the body. Nourishing the Body Temple provides a complete overview of the principles of healthy eating, synthesized from the Cayce readings by a professional nutritionist who explains them from the perspective of modern nutritional science. Discussed are a wide range of topics, including enzymes, pH balance, vitamins, minerals, food combining, vegetarian diet, and medicinal foods. A section of the book addresses the use of foods and supplements for nutritional needs during pregnancy and lactation, as well as for babies, young children, and teens.

Edgar Cayce's Approach to Rejuvenation of the Body, by John Van Auken. Van Auken uses carefully researched quotations from the Cayce readings and includes an overview of Cayce's emphasis on diet, exercise, rest and meditation, in staying mentally and physically young and spiritually centered.
