The Way of the Essenes: Christ's Hidden Life Remembered, by Anne Meurois-Givaudan and Daniel Meurois-Givaudan. Two thousand years after the fact, new light is shed on Christ's hidden life as an initiate in the mystical society of the Essene Brotherhood. In the first English-language edition of the European bestseller, Anne and Daniel Meurois-Givaudan describe the way of life in the Essene communities of first-century Palestine. Through direct revelation, the authors received--over a two-year period--detailed knowledge of the Essene teachings and their role in preparing Christ for his mission. At once unpretentious and astonishing, this beautifully written and evocative story lucidly recreates the life and personality of Christ and his role in the spiritual development of humankind.
Since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, questions continue to arise as to the identity of the Essenes and what role they might have played in the life of Jesus. This account complements the gospels, clarifying and enlarging upon mysterious parts of the record--including Christ's mystical and metaphysical teachings of Essene techniques for spiritual advancement. The authors’ retelling of the Passion of Christ and its aftermath is an extraordinary account that may forever reshape our understanding of these biblical events.
Jesus in the House of the Pharaohs: The Essene Revelations on the Historical Jesus, by Ahmed Osman. Although it is commonly believed that Jesus lived during the first century A.D., there is no concrete evidence to support this fact from the Roman and Jewish historians who would have been his contemporaries. The Gospel writers themselves were of a later generation, and many accounts recorded in the Old Testament and Talmudic commentary refer to the coming of the Messiah as an event that had already occurred. Using the evidence available from archaeology, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Koran, the Talmud, and biblical sources, Ahmed Osman provides a compelling case that both Jesus and Joshua were one and the same--a belief echoed by the early Church Fathers--and that this person was likewise the pharaoh Tutankhamun, who ruled Egypt between 1361 and 1352 B.C. and was regarded as the spiritual son of God. Osman contends that the Essene Christians--who followed Jesus' teachings in secret after his murder--only came into the open following the execution of their prophet John the Baptist by Herod, many centuries later. Yet it was also the Essenes who, following the death of Tutankhamun and his father Akhenaten (Moses), secretly kept the monotheistic religion of Egypt alive. The Essenes believed themselves to be the people of the New Covenant established between their Lord and thenselves by the Teacher of Righteousness, who was murdered by a wicked priest. The Dead Sea Scrolls support Osman's contention that this Teacher of Righteousness was in fact Jesus. Ahmed Osman was born in Cairo in 1934 and is the author of Moses and Akhenaten, Out of Egypt, and The Hebrew Pharaohs of Egypt. He lives in England.
The Essenes: Children of the Light, by Stuart Wilson. It is one of the great tragedies of Western culture that Christianity forgot and eventually denied its Essene roots. Those roots are herein explored from the perspective of past life regression. Fascinating new information emerged, including Essene links with the Druids, the existence of a secret Core Group around Jesus, and contacts with the Order of Melchizedek. Perhaps the most remarkable thing is that the Essene Jesus is restored to us, bringing to life the wise and loving Being who has been obscured by so much doctrine and dogma. His words speak to us across the centuries and open a clearer understanding of the Way which he established, and the ultimate goal of that Way. This book makes clear that Jesus did not stand alone. He had the backing of a powerful and dedicated team of Essenes, including Joseph of Arimathea. Thanks to the technique of past life regression, this story can now be told for the first time, opening up a fascinating window onto a unique and vital time in history.

The Secret Initiation of Jesus at Qumran: The Essene Mysteries of John the Baptist, by Robert Feather. In his earlier book The Mystery of the Copper Scroll of Qumran, Robert Feather analyzed the Dead Sea Scroll engraved on copper that is considered the work of the secretive, devout Jewish sect known as the Essenes, who lived at Qumran around the time of Jesus. To continue his research into the Essene community's way of life and how its beliefs may have influenced the beginnings of Christianity, he met with Father Jozef Milik, one of the scholars who worked on deciphering the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 1950s. Feather learned that during Milik's work somewhere near the Qumran ruins, he had excavated a headless corpse that he believed to be that of John the Baptist. Feather presents persuasive, powerful evidence illustrating the strong link between the Qumran Essenes and New Testament teachings and showing that both John the Baptist and Jesus were intimately involved with this community at Qumran. He further supports the claim that early Christians continued a belief system centered on a form of monotheism first formulated by the Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten and uniquely espoused by the Essenes at Qumran.
The Essenes: Their History and Doctrines and The Kabbalah: Its Doctrines, Development and Literature , by Christian D. Ginsburg. Every investigation into the causes of the phenomena both of mind and matter was strictly forbidden, because the study of logic and metaphysics was regarded as injurious to devotional life. -from The Essenes The Essenes introduces us to the Judaic sect that contributed greatly to the spread of early Christianity. Drawing upon the Midrashim and the Talmud as well as the accounts of Pliny, Josephus, and other ancient writers, this tribute explores their rise and progress, their relationship to both Judaism and Christianity, and more. The Kabbalah is a guide to those wishing initiation into the mysteries of this esoteric doctrine and its extraordinary if veiled influence on Jewish culture over the centuries. Elementary but also comprehensive, it offers easy-to-understand explanations of matters of Jewish history and literature with which the lay reader may not be familiar. Here, in one volume, are two classic essays, dating from 1863 and 1864, on Jewish mysticism by one of the most prominent Hebrew scholars of the 19th century. Hebrew Massoretic scholar CHRISTIAN D. GINSBURG (1821-1914) was born in Poland but spent much of his literary life in England. He is also the author of The Song of Songs and Coheleth and Introduction to the Massoretico-Critical Edition of the Hebrew Bible.
Essene Book of Everyday Virtues: Spiritual Wisdom From the Dead Sea Scrolls, by Kenneth Hanson. More than two thousand years ago a dedicated group of religious ascetics and visionaries fled the opulence of Jerusalem and sequestered themselves in a desert stronghold at Qumran in a utopian attempt to forge a purer, more spiritual existence. By the end of the first century of the Common Era this ancient Judean sect had disappeared, but the library of scrolls they secreted away in limestone caves would remain hidden until their sensational discovery in 1947. The Essenes, or Sons of Light, as they called themselves, copied thirty-eight books of the Hebrew Bible - the oldest known copies in the world - as well as apocryphal material, original rule books for community living, psalms, and books of prophecy.
In the Essene Book of Everyday Virtues, Hebrew scholar Kenneth Hanson PhD uses information contained in the Dead Sea Scrolls, accounts from the ancient historian Josephus, and contemporary archaeological discoveries to create a handbook of spiritual living for contemporary readers. Culling from his own translations of the most evocative passages from the massive and impenetrable scroll texts, Dr. Hanson shows how we may share in the timeless vision of the Sons of Light, with its emphasis on community, simplicity, learning and perseverance, to achieve spiritual wealth and personal abundance in our lives today.
Kenneth Hanson, Ph.D., teaches Judaic Studies at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and Philosophy and Religion at Rollins College. A natural storyteller, Dr. Hanson has, through his books Dead Sea Scrolls: The Untold Story and Kabbalah, made ancient texts accessible to everyone. He is a frequent guest on radio and TV talk shows in various parts of the country and is a sought-after expert on the Scrolls and Kabbalah, most recently for a documentary produced by Madonna.
